The Things Your Baby Doesn’t Need

By: Tim Thomas

While you are out and about buying baby gear it is fun, but you are also an easy target for advertisers. Everybody wants their baby to have the best, safest, and cutest items. But the truth is that babies do not need a whole lot, and there are lots of things that your baby doesn’t need.

Fancy crib sets need to be avoided because they are not safe. It is advised to remove all pillows, bumper pads, comforters, stuffed toys, and anything that is soft from the baby's crib. It is a fun pastime to decorate the nursery but make sure that there are no unneeded things in your baby's crib.

While you are out clothes shopping for your baby, be sure that the clothes you buy are going to be comfortable. Remember that there are many high priced uncomfortable baby clothes. Any newborn is more comfortable in clothing that is not tight and has no elastic. Clothing should be made of cotton this is because it can breathe and it is soft not like any synthetic material that could be found.

In my opinion a changing table and a wipes warmer are wasted money. When changing any baby it is more convenient to use a blanket spread out on the floor. It is also safer for when the baby starts to roll. Wipes warmers dry out the wipes and you also have to bring your baby to where it is.

It has been stated by physical therapists and by paediatricians to avoid the use of a baby walker. Using a walker hinders the natural development of the baby and they are related to many injuries and even death each year.

Special baby laundry soap is not needed. It's just the smell that is different from your other laundry soap. If you baby happens to have a reaction to laundry soap try using less or using only hot water.
